Amazomel is completing its new honey processing plant. This unique plant called “Casa do Mel” is the first of its kind in Brazil regarding its capacity and processing standard. We are aiming to get international certification for export (CIF) in order to sell the precious Melipona honey to distinct foreign destinations.
The infrastructure is ready to process Melipona honey, common honey and propolis. There is an attached laboratory for governmental food inspections and an access ramp for trucks. Attached to the facility is a huge depot for bee-hives and other bee-keeping equipment. The Casa do Mel is situated close to the city of Manaus with its international airport and river harbor. Depending on the Covid19 situation our plant will be inaugurated in 2021 and will be ready for the seasonal melipona honey harvest season, starting in late July.
